Roof Top Tent Life!

If you have been following me on Instagram you would know by now that we brought a roof top tent! Totally random considering we will be a family of four this coming February! BUT after already spending two weekends away living the camp life, I know we will be taking this bad boy out as much as we can before it gets to chilly!

I actually don’t know where to begin with this little beauty! Its my definition of perfect.
Ok so maybe not perfect, a Van all set up with a small working kitchen sounds more like perfect, but when you live in a city, having a second car which is only used for adventures is a bit of an over kill! So yep a tent which sets up in like 5minutes, with your bedding already inside is actually perfect!

I though id start off by mentioning a couple of things that I love most about this baby!

It comes with a built in mattress which is surprisingly super comfy, even more so when you add your own thick underlay! So perfect, you wont need to sleep on no airbed nor will you need to blow one up every time you set up camp! Whats even cooler is its designed so that you can put your bedding into the tent before you head off. Which saves most of your boot space in your car for other awesome things like fairy lights, pretty rugs and your coffee plunger!

Shoe Holder. So sounds a bit lame but let me tell ya, its the beez knees! It has been designed with a storage bag at the top of the ladder that can be tucked away when your not using it. There are couple of small pockets on the front then a large one that can hold 2 pairs of shoes. This allows you to keep your shoes out of your tent space, and its perfect for when you leaving the tent, you can sit on the edge by the door, put your shoes one then pop down the ladder. I just love how the crew behind this design have though about all the small things that make your camping experience so much easier.

Weighted Doors. To on the very bottom edge of the main doors they have add a small light weight. This is amazing!
Our first night in the tent was in horrendous weather. Pouring rain, ALL night not to mention freezing cold. The little weight in the door made getting in and out of the tent way easier. The door flap drops and sits on the outer side of the tent, so when you jump in to the tent in a hurry, your flap stays outside and in its place so your able to just pull down the two zips and your tuckered up for the night.
Again this is a very small detail that sounds like nothing but honestly it makes everything feel smoother.

Windows with a View. Ermergawd, waking up and unzipping your end windows to gaze out at the view is the BEST! Well this is actually all thanks to having a tent on the roof of your car BUT there is a large end window/door thats the same size as your main entrance door, so being able to open this and sit back with a hot coffee and gaze out wether is checking out the surf, having a view of native bush or watching the sun rise, its magical! And you can stay tucked up in your blankets if its a little chilly.
It also has side windows, this makes it great to get some air flow if you need it!

So they also have added rooms that you can buy that zips into the bottom of your tent underneath where your ladder is. This is amazing, its really large to so you can store alot of gear or set up a kitchen or even just pop the kiddies down there.
Unfortunately our car is to low for the smallest one they make. waaaah. After using the tent a few times, we totally know that we need this or more like really want the luxury of having a room to get dressed in after beach days so we are looking into getting something custom made.

I totally recommend this style of camping for anyone! I just love this tent.
The main reason being the ease of set up and packing it up. Its also always on your car ready to go (it cant be removed extremely easy as well if you want it taken off)
Ive been trying to find some cons to list, but I really cant think of any.
